Television Series (2011). 8 episodes. The first series produced by Canal+ based on the novel by the same name by Rafael Chirbes. Fernando Bovaira produced this fictional series. It centers on the figure of an unscrupulous builder, who did business on the Spanish coast. Rubén Bertomeu (Pepe Sancho) is an ambitious builder who was able to amass a great fortune through an agricultural business. When his brother dies, he gets involved in a housing business scheme, which makes him into the most powerful man in the village of Misent, an imaginary city in eastern Spain.
