Four Seasons in Habana, Juana Acosta’s new series

On Sunday, the 29th of January, Movistar Series Xtra aired for the first time and exclusively “Cuatro Estaciones en La Habana”, a police thriller starring Jorge Perugorría and Juana Acosta based on the novels by the Cuban writer Leonard Padura, one of the most progressive thriller writers today.

‘Cuatro estaciones en La Habana’ is a police thriller based on the collection of novels by the Cuban Leonardo Padura, one of the most progressive thriller writers.  The story takes place in the decadent 90s in the Cuban capital and the series centers around the lead character, Mario Conde, a middle-aged detective, who is intelligent, introverted and nostalgic and who carries the weight of the past around with him – what could have been, but wasn’t.  He is a man of unorthodox methods.   Conde often involves himself in his investigation on a person level, which leads him frequently into great conflicts.  In the hot and humid climate of Habana, a city so corrupt and exotic and where everyone hides their secrets, Conde confronts his ghosts through his investigations of different cases.

Juana plays Karina, a young engineer who plays the saxophone and who Conde is attracted to immediately after an accidental encounter on the road.
